When I was young I used to tell all my friends that one day I would travel the world, and of course none of them ever believed me. Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated with different cultures and far off distant places. Names like Kathmandu and Timbuktu used to swirl around my mind filling me with an insatiable lust to wander.
Last year I finally made it to the fabled Kathmandu in the foothills of the Himalaya mountains, and as I stood there looking out over the city I felt a deep joy within myself. A joy solely from traveling to this far off place that I had dreamed of so long ago. After pondering on this feeling I came to the conclusion that some of us are just born to travel. Born to see what is over the next horizon. Born to spread the human race to every far flung corner of this beautiful spectacular planet.
The corners may now be populated but that deep yearning for travel still lives on deep inside us chosen few. It is an unquenchable fire that we must feed. We must feed it new destinations, new tastes, new experiences and as our fire grows, we ourselves grow too. Becoming ever greater and more powerful the longer our journeys continue. Through travel you learn empathy and compassion for others, a deep hatred for racism and also how to be humble and to treasure the smaller things in life. These are the reasons that I have decided to inspire as many people as possible. Inspire them to give up their consumer driven lives and get out, even if it’s just for one week a year, and TRAVEL!!

Nice!!. I was always fascinated by far away strange places and just like you told everyone that cared to listen and yes nobody believed me. My family actually thought it was a phase that i would outgrow ha ha. Now i think i have convinced them and they are actually envious of my free spirit. Lovely read.
That is exactly the same as my family. I think in the end, those with the courage to head off into the unknown will always be envied. My friends and family all tell me how jealous they are but not one of them has left the comfort of their normal day to day existence . Thank you for your lovely comment 🙂
